About Us
We believe small businesses deserve to feel calm about technology
Suria AI works alongside owners in Kuala Lumpur to introduce AI tools thoughtfully — without rushing anyone or making them feel left behind.

How Suria AI came to be
Suria AI started in Bangsar after one of our founders spent several months visiting small businesses across Kuala Lumpur — cafes in Chow Kit, beauty salons in Mont Kiara, small print shops in Petaling Jaya. The same observation came up repeatedly: owners knew that AI tools existed, but the gap between "knowing" and "using" felt very wide. The articles they read were written for tech companies. The tools they tried required account setups, API keys, and decisions that felt far beyond a typical Tuesday afternoon.
We set up Suria AI to close that gap in a considerate way. The name itself draws from the Malay word for the sun — something that arrives steadily, that brightens things without asking you to adjust your eyes all at once. That feeling shaped everything about how we work: we review what you already have, we explain what we're doing in plain terms, and we do not move to the next step until you feel settled with the current one.
Since opening our doors in early 2024, we have worked with food and beverage owners, lifestyle service providers, independent retailers and small professional offices across the Klang Valley. Each engagement is different, but the approach stays the same — unhurried, transparent, and focused on what genuinely helps.

What we stand for
Our values in practice
We listen first
Before proposing anything, we spend time understanding how your business actually runs and what you find tiring or time-consuming. The service follows from that conversation, not the other way around.
We say what we mean
Technical work explained in plain language. If something will cost extra, you hear about it before we start. If a tool is not a good fit for your situation, we say so.
We follow your pace
Timelines are guides, not pressure. If you need a week to think something over or a busy period passes, we wait. The work gets done when it is sensible for you.
You keep ownership
Everything we build belongs to you. Accounts, configurations, guides — we hand over access fully at the end of each engagement and do not create dependency on us to maintain things.
The people
A small team with a clear focus
Nadia Razali
Founder & AI Consultant
Spent six years in operational roles at a mid-size KL retail group before shifting focus to AI adoption for smaller teams. She leads each client engagement personally.
Faizal Kamaruddin
Setup & Integration Specialist
Faizal handles the technical side of each project — configuring tools, connecting platforms, and making sure the handover documentation is clear enough for any team member to follow.
Siti Liyana
Client Experience Lead
Siti coordinates the discovery conversations, checks in during the setup phase, and runs the team walkthroughs that close each engagement. Her background is in customer service training.
How we work
Our working standards
Data handled carefully
We access only the business information needed for the agreed work. We do not retain copies of your customer data after a project closes.
Written documentation
Every engagement ends with written guidance in plain Bahasa-friendly English, so your team can manage the tools independently without relying on us.
Clear agreement upfront
Scope, timeline, and price are agreed in writing before any work begins. We do not add items or change costs without discussion.
Tool selection reviewed
We evaluate each AI tool for suitability before recommending it — looking at data practices, reliability, and whether it fits your team's actual comfort level.
Team walkthrough included
Each service includes a session with your staff where we walk through the tools in real-use scenarios, not a scripted demo.
Post-handover availability
We remain reachable by email for two weeks after every handover to answer questions that come up once the tools are in daily use.
Our approach in context
AI for Malaysian small businesses — the way it should be introduced
Small businesses in Kuala Lumpur face a particular challenge with new technology. The advice that circulates online is mostly written for companies that have IT budgets and technical staff. The tools that get promoted are designed for scale, not for a three-person cafe team or a single-proprietor salon managing bookings between appointments.
At Suria AI, we work in the opposite direction. We start with the simplest version of a useful improvement and test whether it genuinely fits before adding anything else. An owner who wants to reduce the time spent answering the same ten questions each day does not need a sophisticated platform — they need one well-configured assistant that sounds like them and handles those specific questions reliably.
Our consulting work draws on experience with businesses in the Bangsar, Damansara, and Mont Kiara areas, as well as service providers across Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam. We understand the mix of Malay, English and occasional Mandarin that characterises customer communication in the Klang Valley, and we account for that when setting up any customer-facing tool.
The goal with every engagement is for the business owner to feel more settled after working with us, not more dependent on any particular platform or vendor. That is the measure we use when deciding whether a piece of work has gone well.
